Jester%'s Summer Camp Pledge 2021 AKA Operation Overhaul

I don't know why people would go to actual summer camp when you have it right here on world anvil. Plus you don't have to deal with any bugs or rashes. - Jester%, who has never been to summer camp and thinks that it will turn into slasher film every time

Well, well, well, would you look at that were already at that time of the year again for good old summer camp to make our minds race for those o so savory prompts that are like smores by the fire. So many layers to them that have yet to be eaten. Of course, you may be wondering how I have been doing as of late all things considering as the state of the world as we try to get back to ways things were. Though most people have realized that once something changes your life no matter how small it is never the same again, but that's life for you. You can only become stronger from it and through that experience you become something greater than ever before. If you wondering where I am going with this it's just a short motivational speech for me and everyone else reading this as everyone needs a pep talk even when they don't realize that they need one. Who needs a psychologist when you can just read some philosophical wisdom to brighten your day and save your wallet, too unless the summer steam sale is around. Haha, now that's out of the way to be probably thrown into a back alley and mugged let get to what you want to know, what are my nefarious pla-, I mean project goals when my third summer camp comes in like the wave it arrives.

Current State of Mind

As any of my readers who have so generously read my work recently, I have started to head back to some of my old articles to give them a major overhaul as they need, and I have to say is WHAT THE HELL HAVE I DONE. Now I know how Frankenstein feels after creating his monster. I mean seriously man to think I was like that three years back to see how much I have developed as a writer and a person shows you that practice makes almost perfect considering nothing can be perfect, then everything would be dull. Flaws are where the actions and man it is beautiful. Rather than just start a dumpster fire and give in to the inner pyromaniac that everyone has I have decided to (insert noise of disgust) go dumpster diving to bring new life to what I already have because my words are my babies and I can't just bear to leave them behind. So I'm probably going to shower for the rest of the month to deal with the mixture of shame and garbage that I have produced. So you will probably see some old articles that shall be updated to my current state of mind. After that, I'll just get ready for camp and deal with my personal life which is exhausting, being an adult sucks man.

Goals

Diamonds or Bust

Last year I was able to complete the Thirty-Three prompts that the camp had brought with and I have to say they almost drowned me. At first, the first bunch is nice guys giving you compliments and invite you to the beach for some fun in the sun. Usually, I say no when it comes to the beach as I never really liked it beach and I will quote Anakin Skywalker about why I don't like sand and I prefer to be productive than laying around doing nothing, but who can say no to them like that. Then when I got there I only realized that I made a terrible mistake since they seemed to have invited their cousins to join them in the fun and they were not as nice since I was told they were living in a bad part of town where the writing for The Room and Fifty Shades of Grey came from. Things were great a first until they decided that I was giving them the wrong look and ganging up on me. Next thing I know I'm getting my butt kick six ways to Sunday and the next thing I knew I was on a boat tied up with their other cousins thirty-two and thirty-three telling me that I should go for a swim with weights on my legs that were not attached to me yet.
Considering I have Thalassophobia I wasn't going to find out what I was going to meet down there in my final moments, luckily for me, these guys don't know how to tie a good knot and got out of the rope quite easily. The first thing I do is push thirty-two into the water to better my chances to escape, of course, I now dealing thirty-three, and he's a big guy and generally pissed after what I did. Though I'm more pissed off at all the things done to me for no good reason and go, full savage on him which scares the crap out of him, and at the moment without realizing it I bite the guy's ear off Mike Tyson style and spit it into the ocean. I tend to bite things that piss me off. While he's screaming and crying like their no tomorrow I grab a paddle and gab him in his family jewels several times until he falls out of the boat and on top of thirty-two who was having trouble getting back in. After that, I just started rowing as fast as I could, sure I felt a little bad leaving those two out in the water by themselves but they had what was coming to them.
After that, I had to get to do some hitchhiking to get back home since I drove with them on the way there. After that I called my lawyer to sue them for the crap they tried pulling on me, no one tried to Italian mob whack mean and gets away with it. So to keep things quiet about the whole attempted murder thing they gave me a big old diamond that helped me pay for a lot of things since last year. Now Considering the lifestyle I have now I want another big old diamond to keep it up now and coming after that thirty-three again and I am prepared to bring down the fury of a thousand sun up them. Not the mention they decided that I'm too dangerous to be kept alive considering what I know and the fact I have been gathering information on their idea prompt scam they have been stealing from other people to put them behind bars for good. So look out boys because I'm coming for each and everyone one of you soon and taking all of your diamonds too, because who doesn't like diamonds. Diamonds or bust baby!

Which project are your worldbuilding efforts tied to?

Well, If I remember correctly it all started out with the idea of a book that gave birth to my world of The Sagas which has been my most popular world currently. So I need to flush it out more to get that draft out of my closest and do some editing on it. Though I have not come up with a title yet so I am just sticking with "Forest" for now.

What world are you working on?

The Sagas, obviously. Even though I have several other worlds still in the workshop I just sticking with the one until I am ready to jump start another.

Which areas are you working on?

It will most like be in Ardania on the continent of Kineth where my book takes place along with more of the current state of it since the war is now over and terrible things have been happening there now and to its characters.

When will I write

If I could I would just drive away to the middle of nowhere without trouble in the world sadly I have too much at stake to do that. So I will just be doing it every moment I have a chance to do it.

Who supports me?

Well, I would have said my parents, but that would be a joke since they think I'm wasting my time if I'm not making money off of this. Oh if only parents just tried to understand their children and accept them for who they are. The real supporters are my followers and the community at World Anvil, a round of applause for you all. I also hope to see some of you on my discord server eventually despite no ever going on it all (tear in the corner of my eye). Categories

I have no problem when it comes to organizing my work. As I have created specific categories that have certain aspects make up my world to ensure they are easy to find and many go into further detail when they need to be found they are exactly where they need to be.

When I go use images it’s sort of like going through a maze, which I never liked as I always ended up lost in them when I was little. It’s either finding the right path or reaching a dead end. But when you find what you're looking for you will find the way out. It is also important to bring a ball of string with you as well to ensure you can retrace your steps to avoid getting lost as you might find something that might help you at a later date.

Layout

Now here's the thing about the layout of my articles, I just write what I want on it and add images to add inversion into my work. Of course, my header always has a quote that revolves around whatever the article is about. An image as well if it helps inversion and embodies the themes of what I going for. Music can go a long way as well to get the feel of what the article and its cultural themes are about. Along with some side notes as fun facts to add more depth into the article. That pretty much it, other than I just experiment to expand on them. It is not as fancy as other articles you might see, but I prefer to be direct when it comes to writing.

Getting Readers

Social Media

I have never been a fan of social media and was never on any of it during my teenage years. I posted most of my work on the discord server for world anvil most of the time. Then seeing everyone else go on Reddit and Twitter, I joined after my second year on World Anvil. I have been doing it ever since and have been getting more people to get my work recently and more followers as well. I guess the information network will suit my needs after all. Reddit you find me a part of a lot of things like world anvil, worldbuilding, and fantasy worldbuilding. As for Twitter I just go by JesterofTales and post whenever I can. As for my profile, I will try to add to it but I will not be adding any personal information, I prefer the air of mystery around me, it makes it more intriguing for my readers.

Posting

Everything that I said on my social accounts will be posted there for summer camp. Though the range of when they will be done will range from the free time of my life. I will edit them when I need to and ensure that they are meet the exact specifications of detail that are necessary.

After Thoughts

Well, it seems that another summer camp has come and gone just like that. I have to tell you it was surprisingly more chaotic for me this year than last year as my schedule seemed to be filled most of the time. But I managed to get through it all to see that all of my writing made it into camp as much as possible. I have to say I am proud of what I have accomplished during this time as I have reached diamond in the end despite beginning dragged down by a lot of things, mostly lots of rocks that some had chained to my legs while I was sleeping. At first, I had trouble moving with them, but with time I got used to them and carried on like nothing was happening. Plus I did not have any trouble with the thugs that tried to rob me blind either with my writing considering I beat them with the rock attached to me with a pit of chain strangling for good measure. At least some of them broke while it hitting and I don't feel bad about it at all even if they possibly have broken bones and concussion as they started it and I finished it. As for the trip, it appeared I was stuck on a mountain for a while as I thought I could use it as a shortcut, but I failed to predict the harsh weather that they had and found myself in a cave in a harsh storm all by my lonesome or so I thought at least. Apparently, the cave was already occupied and I thought it was a bear just waiting out the storm and would make me its dinner when it saw me and I prefer not to be on anyone's dinner meal I would strike first as it was far game. Only to realize it was not a bear and it was walking on two legs. There before me, I was in front of the great and mythical bigfoot or sasquatch for all you aficionados out there, and boy did we both scream for the longest time as I was terrified to be hulking abe before me and he was terrified as I had a big old rock that was about to bash his head in.
Which lead to him chasing me around the cave until he tripped on one of my rocks with his big feet and land flat on his face go figure. But he just grabbed my chains and started pulling me toward him and I was trying to grab onto something. When I shout "you're not going to beat me." him replying back saying " Eat you I don't eat people and your not one trying to eat me." Not realizing that he could talk I just replied back saying " I thought you were a bear." Which made him stop what he was doing just stood up. At that point, he realized that it was all a misunderstanding and I finally hit him that he could talk which I never thought was possible. It was from here that we had a civilized conversation with one another as we were waiting out the storm. Apparently, his name was Fred and the reason he could talk was that learned it from movies he watched at drive-in theatres and he was a big fan of Leonardo DiCaprio. He was quite happy when he finally got his shiny man, his term for an Oscar, but didn't understand why he had to be mauled by a bear final get it. Which he learned after breaking into some jerk cabin and trashed it for dumping his trash in his backyard through his internet. It was from here we just started exchanging ideas until he offered some weed that he said he took from a weed farm a few miles away from the cave. Considering I was brought up to not take the devil's lettuce by my parent and never liked the idea of not being able to think straight made me hesitant at first.
But it was bigfoot all things and to just chill and bake with him seemed not a bad idea. It was from here I had experienced weird as I had no idea what was in this stuff but I was starting to like it. It was from here we started to talk about philosophical things and other stuff when you are high. It was from here Fred bestowed all of his bigfoot wisdom unto me in that time and when it was all said and done with the storm finally ending I was changed forever. It was from here we went our separate ways and not before he helped me get my chains off first and I was finally free. I knew deep down I would never see Fred again considering he was bigfoot and did not want to be found which I envied a little since there are a lot of people that I would want to get away from in my life. But I had a journey I had to finish and that was what I was going to do. It was from here that the end of my journey was more pleasant than before and the last problem I encounter before reaching the diamond getting through shark-infested waters. But I will just save that story for another time as I have taken too much of your time already. Let's just say when I finally had a hold of it I knew it was all worth it in the end despite all the troubles that I went through it was truly about the journey that defines who we are in the end and despite the hiccups that we face from time to time we just have to keep moving forward no matter what because life is just that way. Plus there was time later to finish what you started through you have your moments here and there. So I just want to say that I had a blast from camp and all the writing I did and I have to save I improved greatly since last time so I am just going keep that thought in a positive place where I can look back and say I did that all by myself nothing can stop me now.
