Katherine was a Goddess from The YoungWorld who followed her sister Carinthe to Terra. Like her sister, Katherine appears throughout Mekharian culture and history. Many regard Katherine as Carinthe's evil twin, who opposed Carinthe's rule.

Personal history
Katherine followed her sister Carinthe to Terra from The Young World. She was found and raised by fishermen, and then when she was old enough she tracked Carinthe to Hesterville where she was welcomed, but Katherine became jealous of her sister who had married Styr Lan. Katherine fell in love with Styr, and seduced him into her bed. Their affair was discovered however, and Carinthe banished Katherine from Gryneria, but not before Katherine had become pregnant by Styr. Carinthe had a daughter named Selene, while Katherine had a son called Marcus. Katherine was angered by the way she had been treated, and determined to take the throne of Gryneria for herself. She raised an army in Jieanga to the south and attacked Hesterville in an attempt to overthrow her sister. A great battle raged across the hills of southern Gryneria, but eventually Katherine was captured and defeated. Carinthe sent her sister back to Jester Island, never to set foot in Gryneria again. It is not known whether Kathrine died on Jester Island or returned with her sister to The YoungWorld.

Author's Notes
Katherine was named for Carinthe's twin sister Lady Kitty. Kitty founded the NationStates Invader region The Gothic Underground. Unlike Carinthe however, Lady Kitty lost interest in NationStates after the first year or so and was far less active than her sister.
