Carinthe

Goddess Carinthe

It is believed by those that worship her, that Carinthe traveled to Terra from The Young World through a portal, a gateway between worlds that is thought to exist somewhere on Jester Island in the Grynerian Straight. She was regarded as a deity, a Goddess of divine power. She ruled the nation of Gryneria before returning to The Young World after forging as strong family legacy on Terra. She has been worshiped as the founder of the Carinthean religion ever since.

Personal history

Carinthe was found by Styr Lan and taken to Hesterville in Gryneria where she learnt about the world she had arrived in. She married Styr and was soon pregnant with his child. However, shortly after Carinthe had arrived, her sister Katherine followed her to Terra. Katherine tracked Carinthe to Hesterville where she was welcomed, but Katherine became jealous of her sister, and seduced Styr.   Carinthe banished Katherine from Gryneria, but not before Katherine had also become pregnant by Styr. Carinthe had a daughter named Selene, while Katherine had a son called Marcus. Not content with her exile, Katherine raised an army in Jieanga to the south and attacked Hesterville in an attempt to overthrow her sister. A great battle raged across the hills of southern Gryneria, but eventually Katherine was captured and defeated. Carinthe sent her sister back to Jester Island, never to set foot in Gryneria again. In the years that followed Selene grew up under her mother's guidance and fell in love with Marcus. They sought Carinthe's blessing for the union, which she granted and they were soon married. With her daughter come of age, Carinthe left Gryneria and sailed back to Jester Island never to be seen again. It is widely believed that Carinthe and her sister returned to The YoungWorld, but no evidence of that other world has ever been proven.

Carinthe was the founder of The YoungWorld region in NationStates, and The YoungWorld forum. She created the region in 2004 at the age of 15 from her home in the Netherlands, and built it up to become one of the largest and most significant player created Defender regions ever to exist on the game. Her twin sister, Lady Kitty, founded an Invader region called the Gothic Undergound, which later merged with The YoungWorld. In 2008, both Carinthe and her sister went off to university, and their activity on the forum and in NationStates declined until shortly after the summer of 2009 the disappeared and have not been heard from since. Control of The YoungWorld passed to Styrlands and then onto others, and still exists today. But Carinthe will always be remembered by those who reside in the YoungWorld as the one true Goddess of NationStates.
