Great Battle of Aten

The Great Battle of Aten was the original Zahren Rebellion's last stand. After days of successful encounters, the Zahren were close to overthrowing the Saeris invaders. A fateful event lead to the leading Zahren General's, known to the people as the Lightning Woman, untimely death and the dissipation of the Rebellion.

The Conflict

Prelude

The Saeris invaded Aten in 82548. From that time, a group of Zahren and Humans fought back against the Saeris. Officials and historians speculate that there were members of the Thulen and Dyane species present among the Rebellion ranks. Decoded Saeris documents make references to Siphon and Angel agents working with the Rebellion both on world and off world. One Saeris offical calls the Rebellion's Lightning Woman a Voltyn agent though this is highly unlikely.

Battlefield

Rebellion cells converged on the Reylon Military Outpost, Astrid Military Center, Halen Military Center, and the Reshen Central Control Nexus on Day 70 of Year 82584. The Rebellion raided these compounds from the next three days causing extreme damage to Saeris equipment and causing high numbers of Saeris casualties.
In the early hours on Day 74, Saeris Special Forces located the compound of the Zahren General Lyra Acxa, the person known as the Lightning Woman. In the following weeks after the Zahren defeat, the bodies of that Special Forces team and Acxa were found among the ruins of a compound in the Reylon desert. As light broke on Day 74, the Zahren lost their momentum and the Saeris regained control. What members of the Rebellion that were eliminated in the following weeks. Very few escaped.

Outcome

Saeris regained control of Aten, but had lost many important Military compounds during the battle.

Aftermath

The Zahren Rebellion crumbled allowing Saeris to maintain control of the planet and paved the way for the Siege of Astrid.
