Idris al-Mustaksif

This famous explorer Idris al-Mustaksif travelled into the spiritual realms, discovering a vast collection of worlds beyond mortal understanding. In their lifetime, they dedicated a series of notes and theses into a collection of three volumes titled the Book of Roger, commissioned by King Roger IV.   Idris al-Mustaksif was born Andesian, close to the village of XX. His first experience with the Spiritual Realm was an incursion into his hometown, when for unknown reasons the barrier between the realms was weakened. Around his family Hasra, ancestors appeared. Idris became spirit-touched, able to feel the presence of the Spirit Realm.
As a young adult he travelled to Tirki, capital of Andesia to study cartography, writing and the Spiritual Realm. This was rather unexplored up until this point. The Spiritual Realm was seen as undesirable, an enigma best to stay clear from. Rituals were performed in each community in order to appease the ancestral spirits. When the barriers became low and spirits would break onto Aegor, it was seen as a natural occurrence, like an earthquake or a landslide.
Idris started to explore the outer fields, and the Hadiq Jamil in Tirki. Learning about the different customs, he started to notice patterns and commonalities on types of spirits. His work remained unappreciated in Andesia, however. He set out across Aegor before arriving at the court of King Roger in Thallassus. There, he spent his final years composing the Book of Roger. His dream to cross into the Spiritual Realm was never completed; he died at the age of 53.
The Book of Roger became the foundation of a group of admirers to study the Spiritual Realm. Eventually they would fulfill the dream of Idris and travel into the Spiritual Realm. This group became known as the Veil's Watch.
