The Realm of Beardsgaard A barbershop and its apothecary built by nerds that escalated so, so far you guys

They say marketing is just storytelling, and perhaps because of who we are as people, we went super literal with that.   Beardsgaard is a beard-centric, nerdy af mom and pop barbershop in a little town down by the river called Batavia in Illinois, an hour-ish west of Chicago, opened in 2014.   One day we made a map of the Realm of Beardsgaard. Then we started making products (with a whole separate company, River Peak Apothecary, located right in the center of the Realm/inside Beardsgaard Barbers in the real world), and those products became locations on that map (lore locations are listed below, click around to explore!)

Then we started writing elaborate mythology, doing photoshoots, making art, all stuff that is technically to show the internet what our products smell like, but we would do even if it wasn't work, because we can't stop creating this world we love.   Now we play in this world every other week (on YouTube!) with a gang of adventurers. This place is the repository of lore around those adventures, the products we make, and the fantasy we lay over this increasingly apocalyptic real world we're living in.   But this world, the Realm of Beardsgaard, it is crafted out of the pieces of the myths and legends and stories of our world that have made our hearts beat faster since we were kids. If you refuse to throw away the magic in your world, this place was made for you. The shop, the products, and the stories.   Because as the doctor says, we're all stories in the end, just make it a good one eh?
