Moonsands Festival Grounds
In the springtime, the sandy eastern shores of Lake Limben are laced with willows and the early fragrant tree blossoms that will become fruit, rimmed with tall rushes fragrant with herbs.
In the days before the spring equinox the silk tents are raised, piles of pillows fluffed, feasts prepared, and immortals the Realm over begin to trickling in, each bringing anywhere from one to a gaggle of exceptionally fair and enthusiastic mortals, most of them women, all well-versed in the broad strokes of the festivities.
At dusk on the equinox, the braziers are lit, and the merriment at the new year begins. When dawn breaks, the braziers are snuffed, and as guests depart the gates, so do all memories of the night. Only the heady feelings remain, and a great many children are born in the next year, particularly for the mortal women.
Which is entirely the point for most of the female moral guests (the male mortal guests and the immortals are mostly there for the good time). Prime beings who have heard tell of the Moonsands festival, like full blooded Humans with little to no innate magic and short lifespans, are quite keen to have immortal children. Little wonder that a great number of Legacy children with half uncertain parentage in the Realm began here.
