Hippocerf
"The giant horse-deer of the beastlands, their massive antlers both beautiful and frightening. Several folk claim to have seen beastland natives ride on the backs of these beasts, but I doubt it. With those antlers, how could one ever see where they are headed?"
Nilson Bauldry, Explorers Guild
Basic Information
Anatomy
At first glance it could pass as a giant deer, yet it possesses several equine features, such as the leg structure and the flank region. The creature has thick, giant antlers that crown its head, giving it an almost royal appearance.
Ecology and Habitats
The hippocerf can be found in the lower mountainous terrains of the beastlands, usually in areas adjacent to plains of grass.
Dietary Needs and Habits
At sunrise the hippocerf comes down from its mountainous territory to find food. Being a herbivore of significant size the hippocerf spends most of its time grazing in order to sustain itself. At sunset, or when it spots predators, the creature will retreat to the safety of the mountains.
