Highport Food Coins
These wooden coins can be exchanged for rations. The currency is handed out at the start of every week to all households within Highport. The coins are numbered to represent the number of registered citizens within the household, allowing one coin to be exchanged for several rations at once. To avoid bogging people down in long waiting lines the coins are delivered door to door by a district official under heavy escort.
Manufacturing process
The city mint has commisioned the woodcarver's guild to produce these coins on their behalf, functioning only as supervisor in this proces. The coins are produced within the well guarded city mint building and stored in a secret location. To discourage counterfeiting each coin must contain a specific intricate carving, be given color using a special dye, and weigh an exact amount. A truly painstaking and timeconsuming process.
