Light Elves

Light Elves (or Great Elves, as they call themselves), are an elegant, haughty, reserved, and shrewd people hailing from the warm forests and mountains of the Montagnard region. Light Elves value education, sophistication, and accomplishment, striving to achieve eminence and glory in all things. Light Elves are often gifted practitioners of innate arcane magic, many spending lifetimes dedicated to researching, perfecting, and innovating old and new spells alike for the progression of their society. Light Elves are also formidable and cunning tacticians on the battlefield, having proven their great skill as military strategists through millennia of victories in armed conflict.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Light Elves typically stand anywhere between 6 to 7 feet in height, and usually weigh between 90 and 140 pounds. Male and female Light Elves are generally equal in build, though female Light Elves possess a more curvaceous figure. Light Elves have a pale, grayish-white skin tone; silvery, blond, or light brown silky hair (only on their heads, no facial or body hair and dark green, blue, purple, or red eyes. They are commonly characterized by their long, pointed ears, high hairline, gaunt cheeks, and angled brows.

Genetics and Reproduction

Light Elves reproduce sexually, with one male and one female parent. The female carries the offspring, only ever a single child, to term for 2 summers in her womb, located in the lower torso.

Growth Rate & Stages

Light Elves are the longest-living of the mortal races on Ademlos, reaching adulthood around 45 summers of age and having a life expectancy of nearly 300 years.

Ecology and Habitats

Light Elves are generally able to thrive in environments where ambient temperatures range from -10C to 50C. As such, Light Elves rarely travel into the Steinhjalm or Vollmond regions, and generally avoid the extremely hot areas of western Jacinta. Light Elves originate from the Montagnard region central to Ademlos. Today, many Light Elves have spread into the neighboring Carthannas region, as well.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Light Elves are immune to magic sleep effects. They possess Low-Light Vision, and may see twice as far as a Human in dimly lit conditions, and may distinguish color and detail those without this vision cannot.
