The Theogenic Church

The seat of the Theogenic church is the City of Barga Thière, located on the southern banks of the Long Lake. The Theogenic Church is lead by a council composed of the Senior Prelates of the Churches of Waukeen, Chauntea and Tyr. From here, lay members and acolytes are dispatched to spread the Word of the Three, the practical and spiritual teaching of the Theogenae throughout the lands of the Reach.

Structure

The Theogenic Church is composed of three branches representing the followers of Waukeen, Chauntea and Tyr. Lay members and followers are taught to worship all three deities in equal measure but it is understood that each member may eventually favor on or the other God depending on their circumstances.

Public Agenda

The Theogenae continue to spread the Word of the Three, training acolytes and laymen who live in communities throughout the Reach. Their goal is to spread their message through deeds and actions, offering simple healing to all, the acolytes typically have useful skill in a craft that a town, village or settlement needs to support it's growth.

History

The mission of the Theogenae has changed in the centuries since the Great Upheaval. Initially, survival of the human race and it's allies was the primary goal, re-establishing order, resource collection and defeating the plagues which ravaged the population. As success begins to take root in the lands surrounding Barga Thiere, acolytes begin to spread into the untamed lands searching for surviving members of the churches, calling them to come and strengthen the colony that has been established. Some respond, bringing family and even whole communities. As word of a safe haven spreads, refugees begin to arrive, some have useful skills, most are starving, plague infested and near death. Hard choices are made, the infirm, the eldest and any incapable of work are separated and allowed to perish.
Stability lead to expansion, contact with tribes tribes, warlords and independent settlements who had established control of lands adjacent to Barga Thiere. 
The Theogenae exerted pressure by trading and gifting staple foods, simple healing and "lost" knowledge of farming and other critical skills, slowly absorbing the lands of adjacent warlords into their growing sphere of influence. The leaders were granted titles and formed the nucleus of the Landed noble families who rose to become the secular leaders and governors of Barge Thière.re. The Theogenae exerted pressure by trading and gifting staple foods, simple healing and "lost" knowledge of farming and other critical skills, slowly absorbing the lands of adjacent warlords into their growing sphere of influence. The leaders were granted titles and formed the nucleus of the Landed noble families who centuries later become the secular leaders and governors of Barge Thière and the surrounding lands.
