Clan (Hidden Cult)

A clan of monks and warlocks who seem to worship the demon Sazonoth. They keep this hidden and act as servants to society in exchange for nothing. Some hold icons of other deities to help defend themselves if questioned too. The clan offers home and board to the homeless and often recruits new people through this effort. They have new recruits help with keeping things together around the areas where they inhabit -- temples or simple places in markets with space for them to rent, sometimes ruins of other places. They do their most secretive work deep within their base of Mawgate where they communicate with Sazonoth directly through the council of the Jaer family and trusted bodies and their leader's use of the Demon's Eye. They are all led by Forlyn Jaer who directly has Sazonoth as their patron.

Currently they are hunting FOR the Demon's Eye, which has gone missing and the kobold named Rutt was to blame for this happening, apparently. The event goes as told: Rutt refused giving her blood signature to the Clan and ran from her initiation. That same night, the relic was found to have been missing too. She was to blame, many say. They are searching in parties spread across ruins and other places for the relic and for Rutt too whom is wanted now by the clan as their proceedings have been halted without a way to communicate with the demon Sazonoth.

Some parts of the Snake's Tongue Clan are working extensively to open portals to the plane where Sazonoth is trapped. In their efforts, they've been able to open smaller portals in some places, letting demons in to wreak havoc in Sazonoth's name.
