Upton Zidaar
(a.k.a. Finest Blade)
Upton Zidaar was an Admiral in the Armada of Truth and led it’s commando unit. Known as the Finest Blade, Upton is regarded as the greatest swordsman who has ever lived, and one of the only people to have successfully fought against the entire SuSkHe Squad.
Born the second son of King Unai I and his wife Queen Sorne, Upton was named Prince of Goats shortly after his birth. He was sent to the Blademasters College at the age of twelve as is tradition for the second child, there he met and became friendly with Marlon Bellows. The two Blademasters graduated together and formed a healthy rivalry.
During the rise of Antagon, Upton saw one of his speeches in secret and became radicalised. His views became more outspoken until the March on Danst and the beginning of the Tricorne War when he became one of the highest ranked Nobles to declare for the Armada. His family were devastated and disinherited him.
Near the end of the war, Upton became disenchanted with the increasing number of civilian casualties he was being ordered to ignore, and eventually deserted his post. After the was, to escape his guilt, he began to abuse alcohol and morphine to the point of becoming addicted. Since then he has lived in and out of halfway houses and rehabs, and is looked after by his distaff second cousin. Most people who knew him during the war can scarce believe then person he has become.
