The Plane of Destiny

From each of us is a thread. A thin red string of fate extending out into the world, forwards and backwards in time. It is at once inescapable and fragile. Transient and inevitable. Mortality is to follow this thread to it's end. Wisdom to see it. While Godhood is to spin it, tie it and in the end... cut it.

The Five Houses fought their wars and settled their scores but now a time of peace settled over the land. The people were free, or at least moreso than they'd been in a generation, and prosperity began to flow. For many, life went on as normal. They had been farmers or hunters and had been removed from the ravages of war. For others, life could start again much as it was before, after the horrors subsided and loved ones were given proper burials. But, for some, a whole new life had to be carved out from virtually nothing. Sole survivors of destroyed cities, or murdered families... prisoners rescued or released or escaped... refugees and deserters in lands they'd never heard of before... The people of the world had never been so intermingled.   At first people reacted with distaste, with mistrust, but in just a few years, as rebuilding flooded the populations with energy and resources, there emerged a calm and eventually even a desire for the exotic, the different and the unknown.
