Mechanics & Inner Workings

It is theorized that the holder of the sea heart will never be able to drown. How it works is by transforming the host's skin into an amphibious membrane immediately after submersion into water.
Secondary powers the sea heart is known to have is to imbue its holder with an automatic knowledge of how to man a ship, and the power to quell storms by their sheer presence.
Considering the previous host was a woman, it is likely that the next bearer will be a woman too.

Manufacturing process

Though not properly known, it is presumed that the sea heart was created through divine wishes combined with mortal longing for a sacred filial child.

Significance

Said to usher in a new golden age after a revolution. However, this artifact's appearance in the waking world heralds the end of magic.
Whether the industrialization of the world is hastening the process remains to be seen.
