The Ecclesiarchy

The Watch

The Ecclesiarchy was formed when the latter consecrated Vostroya as a unified country. But it wasn't called church at the time, they were the watchers, they kept the law at a higher level. These watchers were many, but some had deeds so great during or after the war that they were elevated into saints, binding their soul to the material plane to watch over it while Sigmar was gone.   The remaining organization stagnated after the war and the crowning of Lupercal the first, this era of prosperity, relatively, made the watchers go around in circles trying to finish every loose end, they were consumed by the word of their patron, and every generation saw new interpretations of the Truth, so much so that the Truth was locked away deep inside the Maw. No one actually remembers what it said. This internal struggle lasted for two centuries before one decisive event.

The Inquisition

A barbarian army had taken the Black Fortress, one of the key stronghold of Vostroya's defense against eastern and northern threats. It was a strategic point because of its position over the two Rivers of eastern vostroya. The general who led the army that was sent to retake the Fortress was a watcher named Vance. By genius tactics he infiltrated his whole army into the city and killed the crew from inside out. His victory was so inspiring because he was one of the key Watchers that was disapproving a lot of what the others were doing in Portemort. In an astonishing fashion he took the Fortress and claimed it his own, defending it many times against many threats and always prevailing. After his death, the fort was a city, and his fellow watchers officially left the Mortian watch to become Sigmar's Inquisition. Vance was consecrated and the City was named Saint Vance.

The Inquisition is divided into 6 parts with one inquisitor general at the top of each. The 6 generals constitute the closed circle of the Inquisition.

Ordo Hereticus - Banist de Mornay

The Ordo Hereticus constitute the bulk of the Inquisition, their daily tasks are simple: find the heretics and purge them. These inquisitors vary from ambitious true believers of Sigmar to corrupted individuals just doing it for the power that comes with the title of Inquisitor.

Ordo Xenos - Fidus Kryptmann

The Ordo Xenos is small but specializes in fighting the most otherworldly enemies of the faith, they are always at the fore front of new discoveries. Their main targets are aberrations, and creatures of lovecraftian nightmares.

Ordo Administratum - Dominique de Marche

The admins of Vostroya, they survey bureaucrats and information, and the flow of it. They are often high ranking inquisitors that cannot take more time on the field, so they have an indoors job of finding the heresy in the numbers.

Ordo Arcana - Formerly Anton Rodoyevsky

The Ordo Arcana is the least manned order, because of the scarcity of new information. Their specialty is finding rogue wizards, and fighting magic using monsters or heretics. They often themselves learn spells to boost their powers against those types of opponents. Today since high level magic knowledge is so rare, the order is left barren.

Ordo Malleus - Maul

The Ordo Malleus is the military branch of the Inquisition, and trains soldiers to kill demons in all possible ways. They are often seen on the battlefield and in Guldor, but since the training takes so long, there are only a few of these demon killing machines in existence, but they have the means to lead an ordinary force against an extraordinary enemy.

Ordo Orcus - Sabbathius

The Ordo Orcus specializes in dealing with undead, and undeath. Probably the most creepy, they are often seen dissecting a live zombie, or experimenting on dying corpses. They are always avoided in public, their sigil is said to bring death with them wherever they go.

The Church

The Church back at portemort was doubling down on an ideological domination. The schism was devastating and forced the church to aggressively play their hand, this created many corruption schemes with politicians and senators wanting to look nice for the public and the others by paying the Church. This has made them more a fake front of morality for an immoral scene of politics. While some are rotten men, many priests are actually pious men preaching Sigmar's wisdom, under many of the old saints like Saint Octave in Zamokret.

Today the churches and cathedrals are all ruins in the capital, the new demographic is detaching itself from the faith due to so much culture brought here by so many populations.

Worship

Sigmar is worshiped in the process of creation, building a home for example, building a community, building civilization. This is the first analogy of the Hammer, the other is destruction, and the tools necessary to defend our creations. War is sacred for Sigmar.
