Grand Kingdom Organization in The Nordhavyn Isles | World Anvil

Grand Kingdom

The Grand Kingdom is the greatest, in terms of manpower, wealth, geopolitical power and influence, country of New Haven. Even after the revolt and split of the Essere Kingdom in the Northern Downs, it is still deemed as such.   Most of the nobles are happy with the current arrangement as it keeps them in seats of relative power as well as relative peace between the nobles. However, as time moves on and the Great Exodus fades into memory, ideas of glory and conquest have begun to grow. Questions of where the king gets his authority and if it does rightly belong to him have been heard in taverns and council meetings. Time will tell if the king can maintain his rule and control over this Grand Kingdom.

History

The Grand Kingdom formed during the height of the Great Exodus. Evidently, existing royalty from the old lands came with enough nobles that they were able to re-establish a kingdom in New Haven. After sailing around Southern portion of Midlandia, they arrived at Settler Bay and found the land exceedingly rich. They established their capital at the mouth of the quickly named Beau river aptly named Beaumouth.   As more and more nobles arrived, they paid homage to the self-proclaimed king and were granted land around Settler Bay, Deep Bay and eventually Ridge Bay. Due to the sheer size as well as the richness of the land, it quickly became known as The Grand Kingdom.

Trade relations between them are at an all time high. No issues can be remembered for many years between these two realms

Hostile

Due to Essere Kingdom breaking away and claiming the northern portion of the Grand Kingdom, there is a state of hostility between the two kingdoms. Neither is interested in conflict at this time but very little in the way of trade or diplomacy is active right now.
