Inside some fairly simple wrapping paper, you find a beautifully well designed book. On the outside you can see many skulls are drawn on it, and a bunch of bones. As you start reading the book, you quickly realize that most of the spells that are scribed in the book are incomplete in one way or another, and as you get to a spell for Speak with Dead, you realize that if you were to combine the scroll with the book, it does form a complete spell.
The book contains a bunch more spells, but it'll take more time and effort to research them.
