trolls
Trolls belong to the mortal races, altough many tales show them as wittles dumb creaures. They live in mountainous regions and do not seek contact to other people. They are said to be quite crude and simple minded but due to their strength and size few would dare to say that to a trolls face. For everyone knows that trolls in rage a terrible monsters.
Civilization and Culture
History
In the past the encounters of trolls and other raceshave mostly been hostile and are avoided now by both sides.
For the trolls, most of these encounters ended in slavery and they became agressive in self defence altough they never went against their enslaving lords in open battle. The only time the trolls had ever gone out into open battle was during the great demonwar.
But during the second Order, under the reign of the godking great numbers of them became enslaved and they came to the point of having to make a choice. Submit themselves to slavery, flee or fight. Those that wished to fight did not go out into open battle but withdrew deeper into their homeland in the mountains. Any that came after them there were killed brutally and their heads set on spikes along tracks and paths as warnings. Those that fled left there homes and went abroad in search of a new home far away. They became known as giants for there sheer size that scared people even from afar. Among the remaining trolls they were seen as cowards.
Those that submitted themselves to slavery died lonely, viewed as traitors by the trolls and left behind by the giants.
