The Inscriber
Much of the world is unkind to its people. The kingdom doesn't do much for people who struggle with particular problems. Some of the Todan gnomes have taken it onto themselves to developing technology that is specifically designed to help people navigate the daily challenges.
One particular inventor, by the name of Galigus Bullet, has designed many contraptions. His first invention to get into the running for the Todan Annual Technological Opus Race (T.A.T.O.R.) was a wheelchair gliding attachment. A wheelchair user himself, Galigus' intelligence and drive pushed him to creating things that opened up more opportunities for people like him to engage with the world. The wheelchair glider wings won first place that year, and since them, Galigus has recreated the technology and distributed the wings to quite a number of the residents of Toda. All around the mountain tops where Toda is settled, you can spot small dots flying above and below the great clockwork City of Epochs.
Galigus is not one to get caught up in past inventions though. No, someone whose mind is swimming in ideas constantly has not enough room or patience to hold onto ideas for that long. He quickly moves on through various ideas and iterations, so he doesn't spend too much time on anything. His latest invention once again aids in the daily life of people.
The Inscriber is a gauntlet-type device that mounts to the forearm and shoulder. There's a large opal on the shoulder, which is connected by arcane wires from the crystal to the shoulder piece to the forearm. The crystal works as the auditory receiver for the wearer's words. The crystal then transmutes the words through the arcane wires into muscle movements, and takes them along to the forearm piece. The arm then moves automatically to transcribe what the user is saying.
