Cliffs of Jian
The thing one needs to understand about history is that it tends to favor particular groups or individuals. This happens for a variety of reasons, typically malicious. Power, money, influence twists and mangles the record into something more flattering. But one can learn how to, through closer inspection, see the scars of manipulation and evaluate the record for its reality.
This often manifests by erasure. Erasing the existence of something from history's memory is a manner to ensure it loses its potency and power in the minds of people. Perhaps one of the more sinister things that can happen to some place or some person.
And that is precisely what happened with the third Aldrin Brother. Jian Aldrin, a member of the historically important Aldrin family, and younger brother to the twins Julvo and Jadrun. The Aldrin family being critical to the establishment of the monarchical system of Promera. The fact that they produced two Pantheon Champions helped establish the Aldrin name as a noble house and they still hold influence in the royal court to this day.
The biggest testament to their legacy are the geographical locations named after the Twin Champions, the Julvo Coast and the Jadrun Gulf. Both stocked with legends about the places. But in an effort to honor those forgotten to the sands of time, this research entry will focus on the legends and myths of the third brother's location. The Cliffs of Jian.
Running along the North end of Myrandir, technically both Loru and Crobanta are considered by historians to be part of the Cliff's purview. The continent curves up at this point, and sheer cliffs line this entire end. Weathered by the storms that comes down from and is funneled by the Riromo Peninsula, the cliffs are enormous and sheer, black and grey as the most unspoken parts of the night.
To speak to the legends surrounding this part, there is rumors of an ancient library hidden among the cliff's many crevices, said to be have existed prior to the existence of the Promeran Kingdom. Giant doors, ancient guardians, there's rumors of the most Babylonian tomes. Perhaps there's records from before the Calamity...
Another point of legend is the Speaker's Point. Legends say that if an individual manages to withstand the gale force winds that buffet this particular cliff point, one can shout into the wind and they would carry that message to the receiver, wherever they may be on the Material Plane.
Jian himself was something of a quiet personality according to close accounts, bookish some would say. But there's a twinge of irony in the fact that a legend about speaking out lies in the place named after an individual whose voice was forgotten.
