Rational Velors
Rational Velors, called also Velors without Religion, are a group of Velors which don't believe in the divinity of the Elders. They claim to understand their true nature. In the Rational Velors' opinion the Elders are just aliens who used and manipulate the Velors. They claim that Velors won't rise to greatness unless they reject the false religion. Because negating the divinity of the Elders is the only and the biggest heresy Rational Velors are persecuted by the Church of the Elders.
Culture
Culture and cultural heritage
Culture of the Rational Velors is based on their need to hide because of the persecutions. Most of them lives in clan-like groups in the wild parts of Prometheia and family is the most important value for them.
Art & Architecture
Settlements of Rational Velors are very simple. Due to persecutions they can't build big decorative houses. Most of the Rational Velors change their place of residence multiple time in their lifetime. Despite living in remote locations Church of the Elders is sometimes able to find the settlements.
Birth & Baptismal Rites
After a child is born the whole family gathers in the house of the new parents to celebrate the miracle of life. The celebration is in a form of a big dinner which last the whole night. The father of the newborn child and the guests make 5 toasts for the health of the mother and 5 toasts for the health of the baby. At the end of the celebration the child's grandfathers (grandmothers can take place of the dead grandfathers) make one more toast for the prosperity of the household and protection of the child from the Church's influence.
Coming of Age Rites
When a child reaches adulthood it is told the story of the Elders' deception by its parents.
Funerary and Memorial customs
Rational Velors bury their dead on the outskirts of their settlements in small graves marked by simple wooden marks. Rational Velors aren't very spiritiual and don't believe in an afterlfe.
