The New Aeterum

After the surprise attack on America, the rest of living Humanity retreated to small countries in Asia, attempting to take shelter from further nuclear damage and constant tyranny of war. After The Dormant Trial, they reignited the hope of Mankind's future in China; which was now flattened to the ground.

Demographics

The population is distributed among 12 districts, each holding about 250 million citizens

Government

Their government that hasn't been seen by the eyes of a civilian are called, The Higher Ups. They control everything in the city.

Industry & Trade

It is mandatory for civilians to start working at the age of 14, since that is when they're considered physically able to be economically useful.   There are many businesses across New Aeternum, but the occupation with the most wages is mining for resources outside the walls, because it is also considered the most dangerous due to exposure of radiation. They are called Collectors. Next to it is being a Blacksmith. There are two types: Local Blacksmith, and Governmental Blacksmith. The Local Blacksmiths trade among civilians, so their wages are that of the common. Governmental Blacksmiths forge supplies specifically for reconstructing the city, and creating tools for Collectors, so their wages are almost as high as them.   Work hours are considered currency. Only Higher Ups are able to determine how many hours a person has worked, in which they contact the guards to stop the civilians from overworking themselves, and to deliver them their paychecks.

Architecture

Seeing as there are no evident signs of nature, almost everything in the city is made out of whatever minerals that can be mined at the moment. Despite there not being any sunlight, the faint red light scattered among the city does tend to cause some rust here and there whenever they experience acid rain.

Geography

The city looks like a giant clock, and it's functional but in a custom way the Higher Ups have tweaked it to. There are normal buildings as a normal city would contain, but they're interconnected like railways. Abnormally stable for such an anti-evolution place. If you look at it whole from the very top, it looks like a humongous clock, with its handles ominously ticking.

Natural Resources

Since their residing location used to previously be China, it's known that this country contains underground ores of all kinds. The coal-rich areas in Shanxi Province and its surrounding regions form the largest energy resources base in China. Daqing Oilfield and Zhongyuan Oilfield are both large petroleum bases in China. The output of copper and phosphorus ores in the central region accounts for 40 percent of the country's total.   Besides these fossil fuels, China is a top producer of aluminum, magnesium, antimony, salt, talc, barite, cement, coal, fluorspar, gold, graphite, iron, steel, lead, mercury, molybdenum, phosphate rock, rare earths, tin, tungsten, bismuth and zinc.
