The Cult of Bei'el

The cult of Bei'el is, you guessed it, a cult. They worship the five first children of the Alchemicals, who were given the title Bei'el after their rebellion and subsequent expulsion from the Multiverse.

Structure

Within each group of cultists is a priest which holds sermons and sends others out to do the devils' bidding, and in turn serve the Grand Warlocks, direct servants of the devils themselves who deal out their orders to the priests.

Public Agenda

The Cult seeks to bring to power the devils and to bring down the godlikes, and in the meantime sow chaos throughout the Multiverse.

History

The Cult of Bei'el was founded by a certain corrupt individual who was given the task of spreading the word of the devils by Bei'elBio, the devil of Life. Soon after that individual's expulsion into the Entropic Wastes, a following began to rise in the shadows, and then another, and another, until there was a cult belonging to each devil, which became known, ultimately, as the conglomerate cult of Bei'el.

Mythology & Lore

The Cult of Bei'el holds close to its core the devils' account of what happened when they were expelled from the Multiverse, in which they were betrayed by their parents while exploring the extent of their abilities.

Divine Origins

The cults first began each with what is known as the First Contact, a short period of time in which each of the devils discovered the most corrupt people in the Multiverse and convinced them to join their cause. Those people were known as the Great Prophets, and they quickly gained a following because of their strange and powerful abilities. Soon after the First Contact the godlikes intervened and exiled each of them into the Entropic Wastes, an utterly poor decision because of religion's tendency to create martyrs. The Cult of Bei'el has since been suppressed, but its influence still spreads while the threat of its invasion creeps slowly towards plausible levels.

Ethics

Betrayal is the most heinous sin one could commit from within the cult.

Priesthood

The Grand Warlocks appoint new one priest each year from the masses based on how faithful they are to their cause. The Grand Warlocks themselves are appointed by the devils for no reasons but their own.

Granted Divine Powers

Those who have especially garnered the attention of the devils would be granted the power of a warlock in return for that individual's own magic, leaving them otherwise inert if said devil decided to take that power away. Those who have proven their faith in a devil through several acts toward their cause are granted the generosity of a devil with the power of a cleric. These are incredibly rare, almost only seen in the Grand Warlocks, but those who hold such faith in Bei'el quickly gain favor within their respective cult.

Sects

The Cult of Bei'el is actually five cults, each one belonging to a devil. Each cult is devoted to a devil, but not always the cause of bringing them back through the unknown vasts into the Multiverse.
