The Multiverse of Maha

Created by

Welcome to The Multiverse of Maha, a world that I have been working on since 2006.   SETTING   The Multiverse of Maha is an immense cultivation/science-fantasy setting that I've only begun to flesh out even with more than 16 years worth of working on the project. How immense? Well, our entire universe is but one of Ríộk ná’Mộlát (The Three Realms), Ríocht na’Ölim (The Mortal Realm), alongside its siblings Ríocht na’Díósó’tüa (The Realm of The Gods) and Ríocht na’Ölü (The Realm of the Dead). Ríộk ná’Mộlát are orbited by the Ky’Ríộk Mộnê Mộ’Yáộsü (The Six Elemental Planes) which are in turn orbited by the Kí’Ríộk Mộnê Mộ’Rá’áyí (The Six Conceptual Planes), much like electrons orbit an atom. These various planes, including Ríộk ná’Mộlát, is but one universe in the setting - the various dimensions and innumerous alternate realities also exist, just like the various Earths of the MCU have different Hells, timelines, and events.   HISTORY   The Multiverse of Maha first started in 2006 when I was given a school assignment to create a culture and write a report on that culture. Something about the school assignment fascinated me and I've been working on it since. What started as a simple school project has evolved over time through several iterations, with the culture having a species created for it (and the culture adapting to that species), a companion novel titled Tus'Nua that I've been writing to help flesh out the world, three attempts at conlanging, and even a complete reboot in 2018 after I discovered the YouTube channels of Artifexian and Biblaridion.   INSPIRATION   The Multiverse of Maha has had several inspirations over the years, but the two most impactful inspirations were the Final Fantasy franchise as well as the Xianxia genre of Chinese fiction - of which I include "Journey to the West" by Wu Cheng'en, which while not Xianxia itself started the entire genre as well as countless other works, and weblnovels like "A Will Eternal”, “Pursuit of Truth”, “Renegade Immortal”, “I Shall Seal the Heavens”, and other fantastic works by Er Gen; as well as “Coiling Dragon”, “Stellar Transformations”, “Desolate Era”, and other great works by I Eat Tomatoes. These two not only played a large role in the magic system for the world but also the overall theme and appearance.   Various fantasy, science fantasy, and sci-fi works have given me inspiration here and there, including but not limited to: "Dungeons and Dragons", "Pathfinder", "Shadowrun", "Starwars", and "The Corean Chronicles" and "The Imager Portfolio" by L. E. Modesitt, Jr..   The YouTube channels listed above also inspired me more than I can say, enough that I completely restarted the project trying to make it as scientifically as accurate as possible (at least, as realistic as possible for a setting with magic), with more realism in both the species through Speculative Evolution and even the celestial bodies thanks to Artifexian. H.R. Geiger's Xenomorphs, Warhammer 40ks Tyrranids, and StarCraft's Zerg also heavily inspired the species of my world.   I highly suggest reading the foreward for some basic information and the Introduction to Xianxia, Wuxia, and Cultivation for more in-depth knowledge on what Xianxia is as well as commonly used terms.
