Chain Necklace

These simple chains worn around the neck are common for the people of the upper class to wear. They are prevalent though out the lands and can be seen on anyone that is either nobility, or trying to make connections with nobility.    They are simple chains made of various metals linked together in loops that range from 5 millimeters to a centimeter in diameter. They can be almost any color depending on where you are they may be pained or remain the metal's natural color.    They are worn with formal clothing and some people will attached small symbols and ornaments to them. This is more often a practice that ladies will do, but men will on occasion also wear ornaments on the chairs as well. This is most often either the house crest, or a religious symbol but can mean nothing.

Significance

These chains have special significance to the Shadow Writers they use them to signify to others that they are in the organization as recognize those who know the Shadow Code. A pure black chair is often worn by its members to show their involvement in the organization especially during public events. While other do on occasion wear similar chains, those of the order keep the chain's simple and wear them slightly shorted then is the popular style. Still the order always checks to confirm they are talking to one of there own as it is possible for others or choice this fashion choice by accident.    As for who know the secret langue of Shadow Code, they wear chains which alternate form black to sliver. This is a more usual pattern, and it is important for the members to be able to find these people as they are the only ones who can sent messages to the Black Tower and the leading body of the order.
