Relic Weapon
Codex Entry
"I find myself fascinated by these unique creations. Everything from mortars to daggers were manufactured by our mysterious predecessors, but no matter their design, all share a common trait: the use of Affinity Widgets. Most commonly, of course, is the Iron Affinity. Curious, that - lead bullets infused by the power of this Affinity; that of Iron. Then, there are the others; Corrosive, Fire, Electrical, and last but not least, Light. Each was intended for something special... what might that be? To tell you the truth, the answer does not concern me. No matter the weapon's affinity, they are still weapons, and what are all weapons designed to do? The answer to that is simple - to hurt, to maim, to kill." - Robert CullingsSummary
There are many weaponized Devices scattered around, typically found in caches, coming in a diverse range of types and sizes; everything from simple hand guns to massive mortars. All weaponized Devices, be they firearms or blades, share something in common - they utilize special Widgets called Affinity Widgets. These Widgets change the way a weapon deals damage, specifically in the context of fighting Beasts. The connection between the Affinities and Beasts is not understood by the vast majority of the population. As these special weapons still work the same as normal weapons, they continue to be used as normal weapons would. Cannons, mortars, and rifles are sent to war zones for use by soldiers, but many of the more unique designs are purchased by collectors, as their functions are yet undiscovered and therefore useless in combat.Manufacturing process
