East Haven

Major Factions

Helping Hands
  • The most notable organization in East Haven would be Helping Hands. This organization helps those who have traveled from far and wide to be healed. Primarily, Helping Hands assesses the individuals situation and directs them towards a healing regimen. This organization is filled with health specialists both of the physical and magical variety.
The Angels
  • The Angels are a group of demon hunters that primarily work to keep the land safe from demons. Due to the overwhelmingly large bridge faction of Kazuo worship, the Angels do not include Tieflings as their targets. The Angels work around the clock preventing the entry of hell creatures into their peaceful lands.
Temple Powers
  • This organization consists of each head priest from the influential churches in the area. Temple Powers is used to establish a sense of consistency in practice for citizens, and often work together on establishing major holidays and festivals. This organization is also responsible for collecting mandated offerings for the Gods.
The Promise
  • As The Promise keeps a light presence in Kapokston, there are many more troops in East Haven. The members of The Promise do appreciate what the people of East Haven are accomplishing, and are often involved in new medical advancements. They are responsible for local law enforcement.
Final Arc
  • An organization with shady ties that is constantly doomsday prepping. They have begun constructing a massive ship beside the Golmore ocean. They believe that the end of the world will come again, and that next time it will be a flood. The citizens are suspicious of cult activity, specifically the cult of Annihilation, but there has not been any evidence to stop them.

Religious Influences

Church of Health
  • This church is the primary influence amongst East Haven citizens. All citizens must offer a portion of their crops or pay to the Health Goddess, Chea. The Temple Powers ensure these offerings take place in order to protect East Haven's healing abilities. Their church is located behind the Great Wynlow Waterfall.
Church of Hope
  • The Church of Hope's influence is primarily related to Varontine and The Promise. However, worship of Vita has been adopted as a secondary type of prayer for healing. Some will pray for the hope that they will heal before they even pray for their health.
Church of Nature
  • As an offshoot of Kapokston, East Haven also takes a lot of influence from the Church of Nature. Yael is prayed to and given offerings for good crops and to protect the citizens from the Silent Wilds. Most of those who focus on Yael would be the farmers, especially ones that make delivers into Kapokston.
Cult of Decay
  • The Cult of Decay began to reach infamy in year 290, when the Black Famine occurred. Many crops went bad and refused to grow, and many animals exhibited symptoms of a bizarre rotting plague. During the four years of this plague, only three citizens lost their lives, but many more became cultists out of fear. This cult remains active to this day.
Cult of Annihilation
  • This dangerous cult has a high influence in East Haven. Those who fear the annihilation of the planet often have crippling anxieties that cause them to arrive in East Haven to heal. However, sometimes the healing surrounds aren't enough and the individual is already taken as a cultist.
Cult of Hysteria
  • Like with the Cult of Annihilation, those who worship Hysteria often have arrived before their troubles peaked. They arrived in East Haven with the intent on healing their mind, but realized it was too late. Cultists of Hysteria are often unpredictable and unorganized, but they still usually operate in small groups.

Culture

East Haven is a peaceful, idyllic place. This location is known for having mystical healing powers, especially in the river beside the Great Wynlow Waterfall. Many come to East Haven with chronic conditions, curses, mental illnesses, and other stressors in the hopes that the healing waters will cure them. Many citizens travel to Kapokston during the Divine Festival in order to witness the next Chief be declared. The Festival of Light is also a common celebration. Unique to East Haven is the celebration of Firecracker Day, in which the community lights fireworks, firecrackers, torches, and other colorful lights in a celebration of successfully fending off demons and hell creatures that year.   The citizen's of East Haven tend to value farmers and clerics. East Haven is where Kapokston grows the majority of their food, since there is much more fertile and gentle lands in this city. Due to the heavy religious influences, clerics of all kinds often travel to East Haven on religious journeys, and some stay if they believe they can do good work here. The people tend to be simple, helpful, and hospitable.   Free time is very important to the people of East Haven. They live beside such a beautiful expanse of land, and many wish to experience it on a daily basis. Communing with nature, meditating, cloudwatching, and local explorations are common activities. Rather than rush to build something new, the people wish to preserve and protect what they have.
