Lake Trophimus

Lake Trophimus This lake, east of the Stygian River delta, is an integral part of the Canal of the Pharaohs. Djanet, the capital of the Governate of , sits on its northeastern shore. Lake Trophimus is named after the Hyperborean noble who took the canal from a vague idea of the Khemitites (for several hundred years) to a working water route between seas. A memorial obelisk to Aristides Trophimus is visible from where the canal enters the lake from the west. The reverse side of the obelisk memorializes Trophimus as well as Drusilla Phileta, the engineer who designed the lock system, and Casiphia Tartessa, the architect who oversaw the building of the canal.
