WE 2021 Reading Challange
For my Reading Challenge I decided to read some recommended articles, check out some user streams, and scour people just above 10k, there is some gold there.
Creativity of this community will never cease to amaze me. Awesome article with detailed as mostly realistic social and traditional system of Beard hairstyle. Inspired me to expand upon my ideas of Makua - tattoos of Sea Elves and other people of Flying Archipelago, and Rings of Goblinkind - jewellery worn by various goblinkind species, denoting their social status. Both are early WIP. Short and concise article about Vampires, very informational, maybe a little dry. Similar to some of my articles about species. Article of a staff member, lets give them some love too :)
A story about a family feud with happy ending, Well, I will be damned.
The article inspired me to work on inter-family politics of Farflare (onto the todo list - sigh) Well thought out, interesting city, It is somewhat funny that all the district names are awesome but city name is still placeholder. Organizations in the city seem to be thought out and quite interesting. Even thought this article still seems WIP this city already feels full of interesting characters. Will definitely take pointers for Terdaal Organization of space rangers (of sorts), I like detailed command structure, defined goals. The ethics code (rules of engagement as well) is a nice detail and addition. In LN there is explorers organization - Farstrides, which will definitely benefit from some inspiration from this article. Nice myth, with good historical foundations. Also I find both the name and the myth itself just hilarious. My world is missing these kind of legends (todo list...) Great article about hand signals for flying cavalry. It is very logical in all details, well thought out historical origins, difficulties and limitations. Inspiration for some military signals, mostly for Akhatai military. Article about Djinn wishes and how it is a dire idea to make one. Opening excerpt is great and funny. The hierarchy of Djinni based on tricking mortals and sometimes granting great wishes is a cool idea as well. Quite an interesting, kind of medieval look at the language, with mass of dialect and external nobility that often cannot speak it. Also a short profile of "definitely-not-a-serial-killer" noble lady. Makes me think how to make language more interesting (annoying for players). Informative article about a fascinating ruin, quite creepy as well. Tons of great historical information, great excerpts and quotes. Jelly Filled Pastries.
