The Death of Serus
Embodying her own planet, Serus was overjoyed to create new life, and soon, a mortalis rose out of her own image. Floris and faunis flourished under their care. The planet was peaceful, with only one mortalis and Serus' direct influence.
Serus existed in this way for a few million years, until the fateful day that Solace was struck down by his very own sister. Abandoned and forgotten, as Nova had never been told of Serus, the planet was invaded by hungry vitians; massively tall and greedy creatures, known for devouring planets. Serus did her best to fend them off on her own, however, they soon forced her to create an underground bunker for her people.
Serus built the bunker to last, and her people built a tribute to her in a cavern below. The bunker's walls held for another few thousand years, however, with the lurking danger and a few small mistakes, Serus' people were slaughtered. Serus was left on her own, the sole survivor, with only enough luck to drive the invading vitians out. She vowed never to open any doors or windows, after that, existing and surviving on pure spite.
The astral should have died, long ago. Instead, she forgot. She forgot who she was, and how she had come into existence. She saw herself only as the last of her mortalis, fated to live by herself if only to refuse the vitians their victory.
Now, Solace has returned to find his world destroyed and creation broken; angry, hurt, and without memory of her true identity. With trauma of his own and a stubbornness identical to hers, Serus is no longer alone, but she is just as lost as she has ever been.
