❝ Hi! Happy WBW! What are the politics like in your world? What are some of the major issues and questions it faces?

··─❀─··

I have a LOT of different answers I could give for this one… so for now, I’ll focus on a specific city on Nix! An unnamed city… I should really do something about that.

In this particular city, gladiatorial combat is commonplace. As is, unfortunately, forceful participation. It is common for people to be snatched off the streets and made to fight in the ring.

This isn’t necessarily widely ‘accepted’, but the owner of the colosseum has enough power to get around the laws of the city and there are few who are willing to challenge her. Walker Hitch herself began as a champion, and she now runs the place. Many viewers are unaware of the nonconsensual gladiators and simply enjoy watching an exciting fight take place.

There are many people also working behind the scenes to attempt to take Walker and her ring down, but none have yet succeeded.

❝ Hi! Happy Blorbo Blursday! For two OCs who never/rarely interact in canon-how would they get along? Would it be possible for them to meet? Would [this] change the course of the story?

··─❀─··

For this one… I think I’ll talk about Kraen, and her parent, Animos!

In canon, Animos is corrupted when Kraen is very young; they become Alchios, the archaic embodiment of poison, and Desius is forced to hide Kraen from them.

Kraen never meets them. Animos is released from their corruption long before Desius ever finds Kraen again.

That said, I often think about what it would have been like for Kraen to grow up with both Desius and Animos caring for her. She would most certainly be a different person; she’d likely avoid most of the trauma I’ve inflicted on her in canon.

Animos was always very firm, and very sweet. They accepted Desius for who they are, violence and all, and do not judge. Kraen would have grown very close with them, I imagine.

Both Desius and Kraen’s stories would change drastically, without the grief of losing a loved one, or the rage that followed after. The single moment of Animos’ corruption was a major catalyst for much of my world, and many of my stories, even if not directly responsible.

❝ Hi! Happy Blorbo Blursday! What's the worst thing that could possibly happen to your OC? What would break them completely?

··─❀─··

Because I’ve been recently working on Dhares, I’ll be answering for him! Plus, he’s one of few OCs that I’ve barely harmed, so why not give him a little… extra attention?

Most might guess that Dhares would believe the loss of his attractiveness to be the worst thing that could happen, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Instead, Dhares could never imagine what would happen if he were to lose any of those he loves; whether his cousin, his partners, or his best friends. That said, he’s incredibly resilient so it’s hard to say what would break him.

There’s really only one thing I can think of; if any of his hummingbirds were hurt or killed, he would be utterly devastated. Though he would grieve the loss of the people he loves, he knows many of them would reincarnate. The loss of his birds, however, would be a harsh blow due to the destruction of an innocent faunis he adores and cares for; they are practically his children.

❝ Hi! Happy WBW! Tell me about wildlife in your world! What does it look like, does it have practical uses? Do you have any unique plants?

··─❀─··

a yudryaen plant found around the floating continent of Myenetal

Salt vines appear primarily around the edges of the city of Halo. They are a Rimmedan flora, live to be about eighty Alatheian years, and can grow to an average of twenty-four thousand feet. Trailing upwards from the highest peaks of underwater mountains to the top of the continent, they grow upwards through the sky due to the same energy that keeps Myenetal suspended.

Strong roots keep them from simply floating up and out of the water, and once they reach the continent they quickly intertwine and take root there as well. These vines grow to maturity after about twenty Alatheian years. They start out within the rimmedan sea, and once they have reached past the surface, they start to thicken and strengthen. They are mostly linear until they reach Myenetal, in which they start to spread over the bottom and edges, effectively helping to hold the floating continent together

The salt vines have evolved to execrate salt from the water they grow out of, which is kept in small bubbles along the surface of the vine itself. This makes them a primary food source for the kaethai, which live around Myenetal as well and have a liking for salt. Due to the sudden spike in kaethai numbers, some salt vines have been taken into reserves safeguarded from them by the kreos.

Salt vines are unable to survive without salt water due to their execration of the salt. Without salt, they will instead execrate necessary minerals.

The vines can also sense potential predators; they have rubbery leaves which they can fold and wrap around their stems, allowing them to protect themselves against most species. This can also make them nearly impossible to hold onto, keeping creatures from reaching the floating continent above or damaging the vines.

Salt vines are used in cuisine, as food for kaethai companions, and can be dried into strong bindings and tied into ropes.

Oh I cannot wait to read more about Nix (Dhares is, of course, first tho)! It sounds super interesting!

I've definitely got a lot more to write about for Nix!   I see you've found a favorite in Dhares, though, LOL. Considering I've not mentioned him here c;
