Temple of Silence

Built about 400 years ago, this temple at the edge of the Cowandeen Hemlock Forest on the planet, Bochiuq 313W, is a reminder to the atrocities committed during the reign of the Galra Empire and the struggles the people in the nearby city of Arrowshade. Its position outside this community is meant to represent the blossoming of both life and the community here throughout all periods of time.

History

It was designed by a famous national architect, who notably captured the natural influences of the region and used a pure style to convey his vision in this piece of art. Every element was crafted and created with durable materials from local suppliers, ensuring this temple would continue to stand for many centuries.   That ended up not being the case when the galra took control over Bochiuq 313W and destroyed the temple, along with a large portion of the forest when the inhabitants - the aalzeds - attempted to fight back against the Galra Empire. With the destruction of temple, the aalzeds decided it was best to not rebuild it.

Purpose

The temple was originally designed as a place of worship to Iana, the goddess of tranquility for the aalzeds. It was considered a safe haven for the aalzeds, especially those who did not agree with the Galra Empire.   It's current purpose is being used as a hideout for the Revenant Sharpshooters, a group of galra that are stranded on the planet and believe the war between the Galra Empire and the Voltron Coalition is still going on. This has led to many raids against the city of Arrowshade, and now the aalzeds are on the brink of extinction.

Original Design

From the outside these temple looked magnificent. It had been built with gray stones and had decorations made from spruce trees. Tall, rounded windows added to the overall look of the temple and had been added to the temple in a mostly asymmetric way.   The temple was equipped with a kitchen and three bathrooms. It also had a small living quarters for the temple priest, two bedrooms for the nuns, a roomy dining room, a cozy basement, and worship room where many of the aalzeds from Arrowshade could gather for worships.   The building was shaped like a short "u." The two extensions extended into wooden overhanging panels to each side. The second floor was bigger than the first, which created several overhanging parts on several sides of the temple. That floor had a slightly different style than the floor below.   The roof was high and rounded and was covered with wheat straw. One small chimney poked out the center of the roof. Many smaller windows let in plenty of light to the rooms below the roof. The temple itself was surrounded by paved ground, with a pool at the backside of the temple meant for ceremonies.
