Temple of Silence
Built about 400 years ago, this temple at the edge of the Cowandeen Hemlock Forest on the planet, Bochiuq 313W, is a reminder to the atrocities committed during the reign of the Galra Empire and the struggles the people in the nearby city of Arrowshade. Its position outside this community is meant to represent the blossoming of both life and the community here throughout all periods of time.
It was designed by a famous national architect, who notably captured the natural influences of the region and used a pure style to convey his vision in this piece of art. Every element was crafted and created with durable materials from local suppliers, ensuring this temple would continue to stand for many centuries.
That ended up not being the case when the galra took control over Bochiuq 313W and destroyed the temple, along with a large portion of the forest when the inhabitants - the aalzeds - attempted to fight back against the Galra Empire. With the destruction of temple, the aalzeds decided it was best to not rebuild it.
The temple was originally designed as a place of worship to Iana, the goddess of tranquility for the aalzeds. It was considered a safe haven for the aalzeds, especially those who did not agree with the Galra Empire. It's current purpose is being used as a hideout for the Revenant Sharpshooters, a group of galra that are stranded on the planet and believe the war between the Galra Empire and the Voltron Coalition is still going on. This has led to many raids against the city of Arrowshade, and now the aalzeds are on the brink of extinction.
