Leon was once a common thief who was left for dead after a botched job. He was rescued by a band of orcs called the Tribe of the Maul and Flute. They trained Leon in their ways and Leon became a master of the Maul and Flute and dedicated to his tribe. The tribe was whipped out a year ago by a rival orc tribe, and now Leon wanders the world as a one-man tribe seeking a way to put the name of his tribe in the history books. He also hopes to one day again be a part of something bigger than himself. Once he is ready, he seeks to retake his tribes land and reform it.

Ringo the Drover - hires Mercenaries for odd jobs such as caravan guard, merchant protection, etc. He once hired Leon for a caravan job and was thoroughly satisfied by his work. In reality Ringo is a disgraced general named Rhagar who once tried to usurp a king. He is hiding under the guise of Ringo to elude assassins trying to kill him. He keeps old medals from his former life in a lockbox in his house.
