Sospitator

As the world fell under darkness, there was one city that stood out among all the blight. Sospitator, previously called Urgava, somehow not only survived but was also able to thrive despite the endless hordes surrounding it. While many of it's inhabitants were living here before the fall of the world, it multiplied in size over ten times with the huge influx of refugees flooding in. Luckily for the city, most of the refugees that survived, were only able to do so because of their great strength, further bolstering the cities defense.

Demographics

This cities population is from every corner of the world. It's people are of all species, ethnicity, professions and wealth. In The current state of the city, the weak die young, and the strong grow rich and powerful, so some people don't survive as well as others.

Government

Sospitator is ruled by a king. Shortly before the fall of the world, there was a coup in which cities greatest wizard took Wizard King Olzudalf over from the irresponsible and incompetent King Grendall Gavian. Now the wizard king is in full control of the city, and with the survival of the city there is no one who dares to do anything about his coup from such a long time ago.   The cities laws are pretty basic, but with the city under constant siege, there is no leniency.   Taxation is pretty light, as the government has claimed the right to any belongings that belonged to any fallen adventurers with no families. With the large influx of refugees, that's more than you'd think.

Defences

The main defense of Sospitator is the great arcane barrier, created by the Bastion. The great Wizard King Olzudalf used the Bastion to protect the city in the initial onslaught of the world, and he and the item continue to do so now.   Besides this however, the city itself is surrounded on all sides by old ancient walls. And besides Winter Town and Night Gate most of the city is within these walls. These should be considered a last result as all food production is outside the city as well.

Industry & Trade

The city has many different shops and stores. In fact, the various industries here are huge and in constant demand. Some of these shops include,   1. Cece's Extraordinary Hauberks

Infrastructure

Built from the might of the worlds greatest users of the arcane and architects, besides the cities oldest sectors, it is entirely built from the extensive use of magic. From the roads to the houses to the farms, all were constructed as quickly as possible using magic.   The city itself has many great buildings, both new and old. This is including a great castle on the North side of the city.   The city itself has a great sewer system going under it, and adventuring parties frequently travel it in search of any portals or monsters.   Most of the settlements buildings are rather packed in, with little space between them. But the roads are wide and long, allowing for everyone to travel the city without the misery of traffic. Most of the time.

Assets

The city has every kind of shop imaginable, and the black market is rampant with crazy items as well. The best place to find what you are looking for however is the Sun Water district. Commonly called the market district, this is where most of the cities business is at.

Guilds and Factions

Every single conceivable guild is in the city, for every profession, skill and product. As the refugees flooded in, the government helped sponsor guilds to provide work and support for every skilled worker.   The Adventurers Guild is currently lead by Guild Master Jimmyr.   There are many factions in the city, but thanks to fear and pressure coming from the enemy, they are united fairly strongly.
