Nura
The Nura, known as tree daemons.
The Nura are natural users of Stasis, Air, and Light. their use of Stasis pulls from a different realm than the Mage Realm.
Master mages of these elements can bind others to their service, as Sylus is bound by Myrth. They can use Light patterns to mask their presence and, if they need to travel quickly without concentrating, can use Stasis to physically enter the dreamtime realm that they believe is the real world.
All Nura strive to become master level Stasis Mages and can train to this ideal. For many, it is all they are able to achieve but it is considered necessary to leave the physical realm (hell) and return to the utopia dream realm.
The Nura are rare in all areas of the world. However, they are unknown south of the Great Southern Wilds. They are most notable in the Crystal Hills Kingdoms where they are the backbone of the state's army and power. As a stasis mage, they can control void daemons, black daemons, and other daemon kin (goraths, korsk, mange) They cannot see Life Magic.
Do the Nura believe they are dreaming?
Nura believe the reality they inhabit when they disappear into the Umbral Mage Realm is the real reality and that when they walk on the Physical Realm, they are Dream-Walking. Nothing in the dream permanently affects them in the Nether Realm (their word for the Umbral Mage Realm). They use Light Magic to hide themselves for the most part when they are in the dream. The slicing blade of light is not a Light Blade but a Gateway-like spell that lets them step from the dream. Since both the Nether and the Physical Realm exist simultaneously, the nura believe that they are born into the dream and must "awaken" to their true life in the Nether.
