Epsilon Eridani Penitentiary Center

More often, simply called Epsilon Prison, this location started as a mining colony. A domed settlement was built on a the largest moon of Epsilon Eridani b. It was originally designed to house about 1,000 miners. There are three main buildings. The arrival center for when people arrived from the landing docks. There was an office building, and a residential building.
The residential building had 500 apartments in it originally. The building has been converted to hold up to 1,600 prisoners. The main floor has inmate processing, a med bay, the cafeteria, laundry facilities, and the quartermaster, and any other facility operations. The second through to the 5th floors have the prison cells.
Each floor has 200 square cells. The cells are about 6 yards on each side, it contains two beds, one on each side. There is a toilet and sink in one of the front corners. The front wall that goes into a wide hallway has bars made of advanced polymers, and the bars can be electrically charged by the guards when it's deemed necessary. The back wall of the cell has an air-tight window made of the same material used for starship windows, so they are virtually unbreakable. The windows are part of a safety system to ensure the building maintains air pressure and life support if the dome is ever damaged.
The building that originally housed the mines offices has been converted to a barracks for the guards. At any time, 100 Earth Security Force staff are assigned here.

Purpose / Function

Considered a "medium" security facility, prisoners often get to spend a good amount of time outside their cells for exercising, or socializing.
