The Known World, I.E The Empire Of The Isle

The Known World is named so for the reason that the peoples of the Empire Of The Isle have not been able to conquer vast portions of the planet they inhabit. The Empire itself is located in the middle of a singular worldwide ocean, only a small isle that stretches a few hundred miles in either direction, Next to which is an enormous landmass, thought to be the only continent-sized landmass on the surface of the planet. It is unknown how large the continent is, though it is thought by natural philosophers to be roughly 50 to 100 times larger than the Empire. Several expeditions have been mounted since the keeping of modern records in the Imperial Datastores, with a successful colonization attempt, and the founding of the largest and richest city in the Empire.
