The Praethorian Titan

It is the most well-known and most feared military spaceship among the known galaxies, the Praethorian Titan.
Build for the Praethorian Empire Navy by the company Ralon Weapon Tech at the famous Ralon Shipyards, it is the biggest ship of the line. With a length of about 25 kilometers it dwarfs almost every other ship. For comparison: the largest humanbuild ship is only 1.5km long. Not only is it armed to the teath with Coridium-Massaccelerators, Traxinium-Lasers, Shieldbreaker-Missiles and more, it also has the strongest shields and Thycordium Mark 3 armor. With this armament the Titan is capable of destroing entire fleets of enemys without even it's shields getting below 50%.
But besides striking fear into the Empires enemys, the Titans are also the backbone of every galactic invasion. For this purpose exist the three types of Titans: the battle Titan, the factory Titan and the shipyard Titan.

The three different variants

The battle variant uses most of it's outer hull for weapon placement, while the interior is used for extra energy generators and facilities to house multiple garrisons of landing forces. It is most commonly used for psycological warfare, but also as a sort of "one-ship-fleet" to break through key defensive lines.
To ensure, that the wave of attack never comes to a hold, the factory Titan is filled with industrial infrastructure. It features refineries, alloy forges, weapon factories and mobile mining facilitys, which can be dropped on a planet or asteroid. This way the frontline troops never run out of their high-tech equipment. Due to the strategic importance that arises from this specialization, the grand admirals tend to keep the factory Titans more in the backline.
The shipyard Titan has been fitted out with a 12km long shipyard facility on it's undersite and two smaller ones, each about 4km long, on it's topside. It's role is to repair damaged vessels, so that they don't have to retreat to a shipyard back in the Relicta galaxy. Due to this specialization it had to sacrifice most of it's armaments and is therefore the least armed version of the three and also mostly kept away from battles.

In the recent galactic invasions there were usually two shipyard, four factory and four battle Titans involved.

The legacy of the Titan

Due to it's nature, the Titan has developed quite a legacy among the different species of the known galaxies.
For the Praethorians it became a symbol for victory, security and their superiority over every other species. Everytime when a praethorian planet has a big celebration, a Titan flies through the skies of that planet as part of the festivities.
For most of the other races living within the Empire, the Titan became a symbol for security and the protection the Empire provides for it's citizens against any destabelizing or aggressive forces.
For those, who oppose the Empire, the Titan became a source of fear. When some rebel groups aren't cautious enough and a Titan shows up to one of their battles against the empire, it almost always leads to the rebels either loosing or immidiatly surrendering. This reputation even lead to the upcoming of a new saying among non Praethorians: "You might as well go destroy a Titan..." for when somebody does something incredibly stupid.
