Gilseek
Basic Information
Anatomy
Gilseeks are large humanoids with dog-like faces and pronounced lower canines. They have loose grey skin covered in long, thick hairs placed far apart on their bodies.
Growth Rate & Stages
A male Gilseek fully matures within 10 years and females take about 15 years.
Ecology and Habitats
Tribes of Gilseeks can live practically anywhere, provided there are creatures in the area that are weaker than them.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Gilseeks are omnivorous, eating any vegetation they can find and hunting down animals for meat. They are adverse to the meats of sentient creatures, but will eat it if nothing else is available.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Each tribe is ruled by its greatest warrio called the chief. The chief makes decisions for the tribe, but if a tribesmen wishes to go against him, he may challenge him to combat.
Facial characteristics
Gilseeks have dog-like snouts with protruding tusks. Their eyes are narrow and they have hairs growing sparsely across their bodies
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Gilseek tribes once covered the larger islands of the Achipelago, but have been driven back into the wild regions of Jae (Continent), Franz (Continent), and Nie-eek (Continent).
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Gilseeks have hearing and sight comparable to a human's, but have a very acute sense of smell. Their warriors will sniff out a target from over a mile away and most are able to give an accurate reading of creatures' types and numbers upwind of it's location.
Civilization and Culture
Gender Ideals
Gilseek women are expected to bear many children for the tribe and are seen as lesser warriors. If pressed they can fight nearly as well as the men can. A female Gilseek warrior is looked down upon, but will not be prevented from fighting.
Gilseek men are expected to be strong and hardy. Their role is to provide food and lodging for his mates. A cowardly male will be shunned and sometimes banished by the tribe's chief.
Relationship Ideals
A male Gilseek can have as many females as he can protect. Because the chief is the most powerful warrior, he usually has the most mates. It is not unusual for a male to have a preferred female, but he is expected to continue to provide for his other mates until his death.
Average Technological Level
Gilseeks use steel weapons when they can get them, but manufacture practically nothing for themselves. Any weapons they make are always of the simple verity and made with wood, bone, and stone.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Gilseeks view other species as sources of food or goods. They avoid groups more powerful than themselves and raid the holdings of those who are weaker. During a raid, Gilseek warriors will only engage those who resist. They gather up what they can carry, but often leave enough for the remaining foes to survive, if only so they can attack them again later.
Gilseeks kill any Mendalhep they come across as vengence for the devouring of their kin. Gilseeks believe that if a single part of a creature is consumed, it will never reach the feasting halls of the afterlife.
Lifespan
30 years
Average Height
Males average over 6 feet in height and females average about 6'0"
Average Physique
Male Gilseeks are tall and muscular. Females are smaller and their physical strength is lesser, but they possess far greater endurance.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
The skin of a Gilseek has a light grey colouration that has a black pattern on it. This pattern is sim molar to the pattern from the Gilseek's parents, but each pattern is unique.
