Was Sceptre

While this is the Was Scepter of Sekh-pa-Mefer, it is not the original scepter, one that was handed down from the first Pharaoh, Narmar. However it reminds me of the power of the ancient pharaohs and links me to my forefathers. To the people, it is a symbol of Khemit glory before the the Hyborian Hedgemony.
— Pharaoh to Bonekicker
By the time Psamtik II became Pharaoh, the Was Sceptre was merely a wooden and bronze token of leadership, handed down from when the Kingdom was restored from the Hyborian Hedgemony. The previous one that contained any power, was that of Pharaoh Menkamin I, who fled with it when the Hyborians invaded, but even his was not the true sceptre

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The Was Sceptre was forged by the gods from Gold, sky iron, and one of the leg bones of Montu, making it a holy relic. The bloodline of the Pharaohs descend from Montu's brothers and any of the descendants to wield the Was Sceptre is bestowed enhancments from the Gods and the ability to speak the words of the Gods. The Was Sceptre is thought to have helped in the creation of many of the wonders in the ancient world.

History

The original forged sceptre was created by the gods and handed down to the first pharaoh. Whie the first few pharaohs were great and understood the wisdom of the gods, there were a few that the power did not agree with them. One set the temple to the God of Magic on fire. The other tried to establish a new Religion and took his followers out across the desert. It became clear to the Architects of Ma'at that such an artifact should not be in The Pharaoh's hands unless there is great need. A minor version of the Was Sceptre was created. not as potent as the one from the gods, but still requiring the blood heritage to activate. With the Was Sceptre (minor), the Pharaoh still showed wonderous powers, but no risk of insanity. The architects of Ma'at took the original and sealed in the tomb of the First Pharaoh, Nuthor in -3001 IR. While the magic that constructed that tomb was powerful, the architects of Ma'at added new construction beneath it, and dedicated runes to its preservation. Note that even Nuthor, after burial, was not even trusted with the Was sceptre.
