The Goblin Market

A mile north of the Walkaround Tree in the Feywild, a collection of stalls sits in a dip amongst the verdant hills. The Goblin Market is a staple of local feywild life and is open most days, with stalls selling all manner of mundane and magical (mostly magical) items and creatures for barter. A must for any looking for unique and enchanting items; a must not for any wishing to keep their souls intact.

Stalls and Traders

Any, all or a completely different set of the merchants below may be present at the market at any one time. There are typically around 20 stalls each day. There are always a few souvenir stands and some food stalls, as any market in the planes. Other common stalls include a ritual supplies stall, a furniture stall, one selling crockery and pots and pans, and a hunting supplies stall. Below are some of the more notable and more permanent fixtures in the market.

Nozzlegozen's Grand Auction

This is the largest store here - a huge tent with a large pavilion and stage in front, the side closest to the rest of the market. The auction is run by Nozzlegozen the goblin, a chipper charming ringmaster of a figure in a top hat and tailcoat that glitter a purplish green.   The main stage is in a large open tent where Nozzlegozen can often be found pacing up and down, riling up the crowd and conducting the auction with his gavel, which he raps on the head of a wooden automaton servant that follows him around.   The rest of the tent is storage for all the things on sale, which includes everything from slaves to rare artifacts and works of art to more classic fey goods like charms, spells, contracts, vials of laughter and a box containing the ability to see the colour blue.

Jaroma Dazle, The Mask Merchant

Though she doesn't have a stall, Jaroma is a frequent trader at the market. She is a slight woman standing in the corner of the market, next to an enormous, bulging backpack which looks too large even for a half-orc. Masks of all varieties, qualities and colours dangle from its sides, and she seems to fondle them idly as she calls out to passersby. When a mask isn't in her hands, she constantly rubs her hands together, perhaps greedily, perhaps nervously.

Brug Nug's Floral Charms

A rough-looking goblin trader with a cruel smile, Brug Nug has a passion for crafting - mainly charms carved of crystal and glass in the shape of delicate flowers. His table is covered in a simply gingham tablecloth as he displays his wares for all to see, while he whittles a gemstone into a daisy with a knife that looks to be made of blue obsidian.

Pordon's Potions, Powders & Poultices

Pordon is an Eladrin - silver haired and graceful by nature. Pordon seems to have defied his nature however, and his hair is often in disarray while he sits behind his stall of a hundred different bottles and jars. Usually he can be seen preparing and mixing reagants, a small flame boiling some compound or other, hunched over a small table behind his stall.   His products are an eclectic mix of anything he can put together. Standard potions are always to be found there, as are a few common oils and powders, but interested customers can find all sorts of products here. Pordon has a knack for creating unique compounds with unusual effects, like a powder that causes all vermin in the area to be attracted to wherever the powder is applied. If it's not on the table, Pordon happily takes requests, turning his beautiful elfen face to his table and imagining how the desired effect could be achieved.

Companionship

An elf with especially long ears sells pets here of all shapes and sizes, in a rickety array of cages stacked all around his stall, which is actually a small squat ship - like a compressed galleon complete with mast and sail with logo on. The owner, called Noveron, likes to tell people that there's always a sail at his store.   What some may detect amongst the cages here is that some animals seem quite docile whilst others are extremely agitated. Some of the creatures here seem unusually intelligent, especially the ones which appear so upset. The expressions some animals direct your way seem almost human.

Curses for Gold

A small stand with a large number of strange boxes, jars, lamps, small cupboards, orbs around it is run by a pair of elven adventurers. This wizard and rogue combination are very good at getting into places, looting them and identifying what strange magical items they have found, but do not have the ability to deactivate some of the nastier curses attached to things. So they have set up this stall. They will pay anyone willing to take the risk to open or activate one of their finds, suffering whatever curse it bestows. Heleva, the wizard, can usually tell customers what curse comes from each, so they can take their pick. However, the greater the curse, the greater the reward for taking it on.   Recent customers left with all empathy drained from them or suddenly very prone to being struck by lightning, but richer for it, and the elves get access to whatever treasure was inside - which they are seldom willing to reveal to anyone else.

Moedull's Models

A hulking hobgoblin with deft hands sells figurines of all manner of people and creatures, including several of the fey lords and ladies, great heroes, generic figures good bad and neutral, even a few human figures and a new Twilight set. Some of them even have a limited range of automation.

'Knock Off' Clothes

An very cheap clothes store run by a goblin with a wicked sense of humour. These clothes are fine, except the moment that the wearer gets hurt or knocks heavily into something, the clothes will fall off.
