Daring City Watch

Daring Heights is a constantly changing city, growing every day as new people move in and shifting as new ventures and businesses are started and old ones that didn’t quite pan out collapse. The land around across the hills of the Dawnlands is gradually being divided out into more and more fields, farmsteads and small clusters of houses. With so much of the city’s life being so chaotic, the City Watch are there to add a bit of balancing order. Under the watchful gaze of Captain Balto Thundercog , the watch is responsible for maintaining the law and investigating criminal activity within the city limits. There is an investigative team seconded to Fort Daring to assist in any investigations outside of the city, as typically the dangers faced by those in the surrounding farms are of a more monstrous variety and so the army are tasked with patrolling the rest of the Dawnlands.   Within the city though, the watch patrols regularly and makes a point of trying to meet with all new citizens. As the population is still only a few thousand people, the amount of violent crime occurring in the city is relatively low, the biggest drain on watch resources being the more financial or ‘white-collar’ crime perpetrated by merchants and the wealthier members of town. The watch has a small team of accountants as a result purely for assisting this sort of investigation. Captain Thundercog is fiercely aware though that as the population continues to grow, so to will the amount and variety of crime.   The standard watch member wears a simple plated leather breastplate with metal embedded to pad out strategically, with the blue and gold symbol of Daring Heights sewn onto the armour over the heart, greaves and bracers worn for added protection. Officers wear a short blue cape to denote their station, and all members carry a short sword or axe and a small crossbow.
