Yerrechin is tall and lanky, and not particularly fit.

He pays no particular attention to his appearance apart from basic hygiene. Yerrechin tends to dress in unassuming clothes and look rather scruffy.

He never leaves home without the Obfuscator Helmet, a device that he built to protect his thoughts from being read or influenced by others.
Inside his house, he relies on an interference sender, a simpler copper wire net on his head and several fortifications to seal the doors and windows for the night.

Personal history

Yerrechin's mother ran away with another man when he was about eight years old - at least, that is what his father told him. Either way, his father never married again.
Seven years later, Yerrechin's father lost his life when a fire broke out in the factory where he worked. Consequently, Yerrechin spent the rest of his youth under his uncle's care and learning his trade.
One day while he was diagnosing a broken radio, Yerrechin picked up a strange transmission on a normally-unused frequency. The words he heard did not make sense, and he might have forgotten all about it after a few days... if his uncle had not been killed in a mugging the day after Yerrechin told him about that.
It was the odd timing that made Yerrechin realize that something bigger was going on. The same day, he packed his belongings and bought a passage on a ship to get as far away from his home as possible. He eventually settled down in Ondalin and took a keen, albeit covert, interest in the research at the observatory.

Education

After he finished school, Yerrechin was taken on as an apprentice by his father's nest-brother and trained as a radio technician. Yerrechin is well-versed in electrics, radio physics and mechanics.

Employment

Following his apprenticeship, Yerrechin spent several years working at his uncle's radio workshop. He gained experience in building, selling and repairing radios. After leaving home, he found work at similar businesses in two other towns before settling down and opening his own workshop in Ondalin.
