Rilsu Council
The political representatives of the Rilsu population.
Structure
Precinct Level
A precinct or zak is represented by sixteen people, four from each generational tier. This means there are four children, four young adults, four middle-aged adults and four elderly adults. Every Rilsu who has reached the age of school entry is eligible to run for one of these council seats. Regularly held elections determine which candidates gain the right to speak for the rest of the population. The mining settlements outside the vast metropolitan zakdengok also count as zak for administrative purposes. Consequently, each of those is represented by the same number of council members.Higher Levels
The precinct councils are combined to form increasingly larger governmental bodies, depending on the decision that they need to make. For example, decisions affecting the district or dulzak are discussed and voted on by all council members of the included zak, and those affecting an entire zakdengok are handled by the combined councils of all its dulzak. Matters concerning all of Ranul require every single council member on the moon to contribute.
