Table of Contents
Konlaz Findomi is a special cocktail that is exclusively served at the Lakeview Bar.

General Properties

Appearance

This cocktail has two layers. The top one is mostly clear, slightly thicker than water and of an intense green. The bottom layer is thick, opaque and of a deep red. Four candied irilino shrimps are hung from the rim of the glass, and a ripe kirumul mushroom floats on the surface.

Taste

The drink is sour, sweet and slightly bitter. It also has a strong spicy quality which leaves a burning sensation in the mouth. The garnish mostly tastes umami.

Effects

It is an intoxicating mixture with a moderate to high amount of alcohol and a moderate amount of sugar. The included spices increase blood circulation.

Preparation

Core Recipe

A coveted secret

The recipe is only passed on within the Uz family who owns the Lakeview Bar. While certain ingredients are straightforward to identify by taste and appearance, others are not even known to the hired barkeepers. Whenever a guest orders this particular cocktail, the order is passed on to a family member who prepares it behind closed doors.

In the know

Many people suspect that Danokon has figured out the recipe while making sure that nothing illegal was going on. Monitoring supply chains is known to be among the Artificial Sapient's core tasks, and it does have the necessary resources to deduce what the end product may be. In theory it should make no difference whether it reasons about the construction of a weapon, the production of a drug or the preparation of a harmless cocktail.   However, Danokon is also designed to keep the secrets of law-abiding citizens. So even if it knows the recipe, it would be highly unlikely to reveal it.
Cocktail:
  • 1/4 cup of hato
  • 1/2 cup of pafeni juice
  • 2 teaspoons of ground tunuta blossoms
  • 1/8 cup of tuguz liquor
  • 1/8 cup of mashed smoked liroz
  • 1 teaspoon of rembefo powder
  Garnish:
  • 4 peeled irilino
  • 1 kirumul mushroom
Dunk the irilino in the tuguz liquor, then put them on a plate and set them on fire for a few seconds. Let them cool off.

In the meantime, shake the hato with the pafeni juice and the tunuta blossoms, then pour this mixture into the glass.

Blend the tuguz liquor with the smoked liroz and the rembefo powder. Pour it on top of the existing mixture and let it sink to the bottom.

Hang the irilino on the rim of the glass and let the kirumul mushroom float on the drink's surface.

Cultural Significance

History

Creation

Konlaz Findomi was created by Uz-Lune for the 64th anniversary of the bar's opening. It quickly caught on with the celebrating guests and has been popular ever since.

Curiosity

The mystery surrounding it attracts tourists from all over Ranul. Countless attempts have been made at deducing the recipe.   The most famous one is that of a genetics student who smuggled a sample out of the bar. He tried to analyze the DNA of the different ingredients, but by the time he got around to it, the pafeni enzymes had broken down most of the genetic material. All he could confirm were the two ingredients that were already obvious by taste - hato and pafeni juice.

Significance

According to its inventor, the cocktail represents the Findonoha Lake in all its facets.   Some of these are easy to identify. For instance, the irilino shrimps and the kirumul mushroom which serve as the garnish are native to the area. The hato used in the cocktail is likely to be based on a famous regional subspecies of muvi. Similarly, pafeni shrubs are common all around the lake.   Whatever else is included probably hints at the bustling trade taking place in the Finkunto Port.

Serving Conventions

The cocktail is served in a wide, conical glass on a stem.
