Session III Report
The Kingkiller Comet
General Summary
6th of Foen, 120 MA
Having just explored the wreck of the Compass Rose and ending the curse on the Storm Reef, Runala asked the party for one last favor. She wished for them to rescue a Bronze Wyrmling named Aidron from a Blue Wyrmling named Stormrender, who supposedly has the dragon locked up in an old observatory. The group accepted...After a night's rest, the group made way for the observatory. Just outside its entrance, they ran into a woman named Lucia, who was also looking for Aidron. She agreed to help the party retrieve the wyrmling. At the entrance the group used the moonstone key that Runala gave them, and a magical bridge appeared granting them access to the observatory. Once inside they were greeted by a few winged kobolds being attacked by stirges. The stirges immediately turned towards their new prey. Luckily, Tyseth had just the spell. He ran in and thunderwaved the stirges into oblivion; however, he also blasted one of the kobolds into the afterlife. That kobolds being one of the brothers to Myla... In the middle of the first chamber was a large astronomical contraption, it appeared to be tracking the positions of various moons and comets around Etherlen.
After making friends with Minn, he gave them valuable information about the observatory. Bewm and Lucia managed to stop the rest of the kobolds from attacking, while the others found a magical book in the other tower. Finally, they all regrouped and entered the last tower. Here, they found Stormrender sleeping, but unfortunately stealth is not Bewm's strong suite, and the dragon awoke. A fierce battle broke out, the party being hit fairly hard. However, the group would overcome the dragon and cause him to flee... With the help of the book they found, they were able to solve a puzzle within the dragon's lair, and discovered a lower level. Here, Aidron had been locked away...
Now with Aidron, the group had fullfilled Runala's request, but they knew Stormrender was up to no good, and so they waited for the dragon's return. And, several hours later he did. As the Kingkiller comet was passing over by, the machine in the middle began to spew magical effects. A great battle began, as the dragon and the kobolds fought the party, Lucia, and Aidron. A few of the party members would go unconscious in the fray, but luckily would be saved. With the combined strength of the party, Lucia, and Aidron, they would overpower Stormrender and would be successful in ending him and his ambitious plans...
Once back at Dragon's Rest, Runala would thank the party and gift them a pearl as thanks. With nothing more troubling the Town, the group knew it was time to head back to the mainland. After a few days of rest and saying goodbye to the kobolds and Runala, the group and Lucia got on the same boat that brought the party here, and set sail for home...
