Vinischram

One of the foremost settlements in The Immortal Kingdom. Took in some of the fleeing population from Sant'utheer, but refuses many refugees to camp outside the town's boundaries.
Vinischram lays on the most north-easterly peninsula of the kingdom, growing as a port town with connections to other countries including Ember to the east. Ideally placed with its pleasant climate and strong position in the Immortal Kingdom it rapidly became the continent's melting pot with inhabitants of every kind walking its streets. Many a sailing vessel or train would bring visitors to the city, bringing their art, cuisine and sensibilities with them. The city enjoyed a necessarily liberating atmosphere despite its rule under Telsaan and for the behaviours of its most successful - its painters, poets and sculptors, it gained the name of the City of Art and Wine.
When its artists weren't indulged in their pleasures, they created the kingdom's most valuable luxuries. Paintings to be hanged in palace halls, sculptures of heroes for noble gardens, offerings to Telsaan crafted with the utmost care and decadence. From these commissions, artists would throw lavish parties to celebrate success, happiness, wealth or nothing in particular. In Vinischram, every day deserves a festival. For these festivals the finest wines and ales, those most sought after the world over but brewed within the very city itself, would wet the lips of every merry man on every merry street. The wine flowed, the money flowed and all was well.
A spark struck between two nations changed this.
Since tensions have begun to mount between The Immortal Kingdom and its neighbour, the wind blows the name of Ember through the streets like a tossed stone. Emberian nationals who have set up lives and business in Vinischram have chosen to migrate back home, or been forced to otherwise. Those who stay are prone to glares and veiled threats if not outright violence. If a man wasn't from The Immortal Kingdom, he was from Ember.

Artisan works, the finest works of art and craftsmanship that aren't made within the walls of the Immortal City are made in Vinischram.
