Stalsis

A condition that affects a variety of creatures of the family Maduni, causing them to become a skeleton of their original self and unable to hold their form in the presence of full sunlight.

A creature suffering from Stalsis is refered to as a "stal-name of creature". Examples include Stalkoblin, Stalfols, Stalnox, and Stalzalfols.

Causes

It is believed that Stalsis is caused by the death and subsequent destruction of the body of a Maduni by ceremonial burning, especially if the ceremony is performed by a member of the Hylian Priesthood. Unable to return to it's old body in any form, the spirit of the creature is given a form of skeletal earth. In fact, the bodies of Steal creatures are not actually made from bone, but stone.
