Hylia Bridge, Northern Gatehouse
The northern Gatehouse of the Great Bridge of Hylia, serving as the headquarters for the Hyrule Guard's Bridge Garrison. The Gatehouse consists of ten floors.
Ground Level
The main entrance for the Bridge, consisting of two stone encased stairwells which spiral up to the first floor and the Portcullis Winch Room. The Eastern Stairwell is entered from a heavy metal door on the northern side. The Western Stairwell is entered through a similar door on the bridge side of the gate. Two heavy Eldite grates protrude from the ceiling of the walkway, framing a long opening.
First Floor
Taking either stairwell from the ground floor will lead to an inward opening door, revealing the Winch Room. Two large winches are situated on either side of the room, holding thick chains used to raise and lower either portcullis independently or in tandem. In the center of the floor is a rectangular half wall surrounding an opening from which heated sand can be dropped on intruders trapped between the gates.
Second Floor
Above the Winch Room is the Armory.
Third Floor
Continuing up the Eastern stairwell leads to the Guard Room. This room is not accessible from the Western Stairwell.
Fourth Floor
Here, both stairwells open up on the entire floor, which is used as a Dining Hall.
Fifth Floor
A small, tidy Northern Gatehouse, Storage Room for regular supplies. A separated Northern Gatehouse, Quartermaster can be accessed from within.
Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Floors
The Sixth Floor is the final floor of both stairwells, instead beginning a central stairwell through the guards living quarters before ending on the Ninth Floor. Across these floors, a total of twenty-five beds with trunks can be found, providing a place of rest for those stationed at the Bridge.
